Lahore, 26th July 2020: Invitations have been sent to ministers for the conferences on the opening of educational institutions in Pakistan.

According to details, the federal government has convened a conference of international education ministers on the issue of opening educational institutions due to the coronavirus. Invitations have been sent to education experts and ministers in this regard.

An inter-provincial conference chaired by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood will be held on August 5. Provincial education ministers and other senior officials will attend the conference via video link.

Despite the government announcement, the All Pakistan Private Schools Association announced the opening of educational institutions next month.

On the other hand, the All Pakistan Private Schools Association has rejected the government’s decision and announced to open educational institutions from August 15. The All Pakistan Private Schools Association held a joint press conference in Islamabad on Monday.

In a press conference, Hidayat Khan, president of the association, bluntly said that we will open educational institutions all over Pakistan. The closure of educational institutions is harming the children of the country. We have held talks with the government but we have not been listened to.

It may be recalled that Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that all educational institutions across the country will be opened from September 15. From the second week of July, technical education and madrassas will be allowed to conduct examinations under SOPs.
