Coronavirus: First case reported positive in Karachi
Karachi, 26th Feb: A spokesperson for the Sindh Health Department confirmed on Wednesday, the first positive case of coronavirus, in Karachi. As per the reports, a 22 year old boy, whose name is Yahya Jaffri, has been kept under observation in a Medical Institute in Karachi on the suspicion of showing coronavirus symptoms. Health and Population Welfare Minister Meeran Yousuf, said in a statement that Yahya had travelled to Iran and from there he contracted the virus. The patient had travelled back from Tehran to Karachi on the 20th of February and showed signs of the virus. On getting checked, he and his family have been quarantined and been kept under close observation. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr Zafar Mirza confirmed two cases of coronavirus, on Wednesday, minutes after the first case was reported in Pakistan’s port city. He tweeted on his Twitter account: “I can confirm first two cases of corona virus in Pakistan.
