Coronavirus: Pakistan Lockdown extended till April 14

Lahore, 1st April: Keeping in view the situation due to coronavirus in the country, the government has decided to extend the lockdown. According to reports of Baaghi TV, after the spike in the number of COVID-19 in the country, the government of Pakistan has announced to extend the lockdown till the 14th of April. This step is necessary in order to contain the spread of the virus countrywide. Asad Umar, the federal minister for planning and development, said the decision to maintain coronavirus restrictions in the country for two more weeks was taken in a meeting of the National Coordination Committee. A lockdown had been imposed in the country on the 24th of March 2020, amid the wide-spread of the deadly virus in Pakistan. The government initially announced the lockdown for two weeks, but due to the rise in the number of confirmed cases, the government has taken a decision to further increase the lockdown for one more week.
