Coronavirus: Punjab government bans public Iftar parties during Ramadan

Punjab government has reportedly banned government iftar parties for the ongoing Ramadan amid COVID-19 crisis.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has banned official Iftar parties in Punjab.

The ban will be reported to all government officials, including ministers and secretaries. Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that because of Coronavirus we have to save every penny.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar further said that the situation demands that we provide more resources to deal with the Corona epidemic. The policy of stay at home and stay safe is for the protection of citizens.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar has said that the decision to extend the lockdown has been taken through collective consultation.

Coronavirus: Number of confirmed cases and casualties increases

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that extension of lockdown was essential to stop the spread of Coronavirus and that the Punjab government has also decided to extend lockdown till May 9th, 2020. During Ramadan, milk, yogurt shops, grocery stores, ovens and bakeries are allowed to open from 2 am to 4 am during the morning hours.
