Former South African fast bowler Kyle Abbott claims best first class figures in 63 years as he took 17 wickets for Hampshire in the County Championship.

According to details Kyle Abbott took 17 wickets for 86 runs for Hampshire. This is the best bowling figures in a first class match since 1956 in which Jim Laker’s took 19 wickets for 90 runs. In the first innings of the match Abbott destroys Somerset’s batting lineup by taking 9 wickets. Fidel Edwards was the only other bowler who took the remaining wicket for Hampshire. In the second innings, Kyle Abbott took 8 wickets, in this way, he claimed 17 wickets in a match.

Reportedly, his bowling helped Hampshire to take a lead of 54 runs. He contributed with the bat as well, as he shared a crucial 119 run partnership with skipper James Vince for the ninth wicket.
