Lahore, 15th April: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Islamabad, has issued a directive for the orders to be imposed during the Holy month of Ramadan, regarding the situation of the pandemic in the country.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, keeping in view the rise in the coronavirus cases in Pakistan, the government has issued the safety measures of social distancing. All PEMRA licenses are ordered to follow these rules during the month of Ramadan.

As per the orders, all PEMRA licenses will review the format of their Ramadan transmissions contrary to the practices followed in previous years.

All TV channels are strictly ordered not to keep any live audience during their Sehr and Iftar timings as public gatherings for any purpose are deemed hazardous and a probable source of spreading COVID-19, not only among the audience but also the crew members/staff of the channels.

Furthermore, PEMRA has issued guidelines for all the TV channels to adhere, keeping in mind the safety of the people. The rules of social distancing will be followed on the sets, even if more than one person hosts the program then a distance of one meter must be followed and that only one guest be present at a time on the set. The other rules given by PEMRA should be read as follow:

The channels are directed to follow them, in case of non-compliance telecast of such programs shall be prohibited under section 27 of PEMRA Ordinance 2002.
