COVID-19: Positivity ratio surges in Pakistan

Lahore, 6th December: The National Command and Operations Centre reported on Sunday that the coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan has surged past 7.94%.

Baaghi TV: According to reports from the National Command And Operations Center (NCOC), 3,308 people tested COVID positive and 58 people lost lives during the last 24 hour.

According to the latest data, as of December 5, the highest positivity ratio was observed in Mirpur with 22.00%, followed by Karachi with 17.39% and Peshawar with 16.02%.

As per reports, as of December 5, the positivity ratio in Azad Jammu and Kashmir was 10.83%,  11.62% in Balochistan, 2.68% in Gilgit-Baltistan,  6.16% in Islamabad, 11.29% in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4.42% in Punjab 4.42%, and 11.47% is reported in Sindh.

The NCOC data showed that the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the country reached to 53,126 on December 6 and about 41,645 tests were carried out on December 5.

So far, 355,012 people have recovered from the infection in the country.

As per the reports, 8,361 people from across the country have died due to COVID-19 so far. In Sindh, 3,011 died of the disease,  3,162 in Punjab, 1,404 in KP, 340 people in ICT, 169 in Balochistan, 98 in GB, and 177 in AJK.
