COVID-19, sharp rise in deaths across Pakistan

According to a report by Baaghi TV, the number of deaths and patients from Corona virus in Pakistan has started increasing once again. While there have been 13 more deaths from corona in the last 24 hours, 736 new patients have emerged.

According to the NCOC, the total number of deaths from corona in Pakistan has risen to 6,715. However, the total number of Corona patients has reached 326,216. In Pakistan, 9,855 patients of Corona are being treated in various hospitals and 39,646 have recovered.

The number of corona cases in Islamabad has reached 18,578. 102,253 patients have been reported in Punjab, 142,917 in Sindh, 38,886 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,767 in Balochistan, 4,127 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 3,688 in Azad Kashmir.

According to the NCOC, the corona virus caused 2,329 deaths in Punjab, 2,591 in Sindh, 1,267 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 205 in Islamabad, 205 in Balochistan, 148 in Balochistan, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 85 deaths in Azad Kashmir.

According to the NCOC, 735 hospitals in Pakistan have facilities for corona patients, and the number of ventilators for corona patients in hospitals is 1,920.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was also stated at the last NCOC meeting that the number of Corona victims and deaths is increasing across the country. All Chief Secretaries have been directed to strictly implement SOPs. That being said, violations of SOPs will be dealt with severely. Attention should be paid to high risk sectors like transport, markets, wedding halls, restaurants and public gatherings. The use of masks and social distance should be ensured. The administration should take immediate action on the violation of Corona SOPs.

It should be noted that the dangerous corona virus outbreak from China also spread in Pakistan. All the departments have been opened under SOPs, but SOPs are being ignored by the people. Due to which there is a risk of further spread of corona.

On the other hand, the political opposition are manipulating the situation for personal gains. No attention is being paid to COVID-19 SOPs in rallies and gatherings, there is a risk of corona spreading even from their public meetings.

The NCOC has stressed that parents and teachers pay special attention to the following issues when sending their children to school. Send children to school wearing masks, even if it’s a cloth mask. If the child has a cough or symptoms of the disease, do not send them to school at all, if the condition is worse, the child should be tested immediately. The school should be informed in case of positive.
