COVID-19: When will the pandemic end?

Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has infected more than three million people globally and taken the lives of over 200,000 people.

Almost every country on earth has been hit by the pandemic with no clear end in sight. A vaccine is at least a year away, and while effective treatments may come sooner, the global focus is now on containment efforts to prevent our health-care systems from being overwhelmed.

But still the question remains — when will the pandemic end?

According to some experts, there are several likely scenarios that could play out, but for the time being COVID-19 shows no signs of slowing down.

According to stats and figures given by the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the pandemic is likely to end 97% by May 29, 2020. However, the researchers in SUTD predict that the virus is likely to end 100% till November 26, 2020.

Researchers have collected data from different countries to estimate the pandemic life cycle curves and predict when the pandemic might end in respective countries and the world.

The university clarified that the forecast estimates are being updated daily on the basis of new data while this analysis and estimation is for educational and research purposes only and there is a possibility of error.
