COVID-19: Quarantine violators face fines and imprisonment

LAHORE, 21st March: The world is facing an acute problem of coronavirus, all the countries globally are being effected severely by the pandemic and taking the serious measure in order to contain the spread of the disease.

According to the reports of Baaghi TV, the coronavirus infected count is varying daily and is on the rise worldwide, countries are now putting bans on the social activities and ordering to self isolate and keep safe distance among the individuals.

UAE is one such country that has imposed a fine of temporary imprisonment to the one who will spread rumors on social media related to the coronavirus. The UAE Attorney-General D.r Hamad Al Shamsi said on Monday that the rumormongers may be jailed for a minimum term of a year if they spread rumors punishable by law that are considered a crime. However, it may be less than a year depending on the crime they commit, the attorney general said in a media briefing.

 

According to the sources, the new law passed by the UAE authorities is to put a fine of up to 5 years imprisonment to those who will violate the rules of quarantine. The UAE authorities have declared the closedown of all the restaurants, cafes and bars and ordered the people to stay indoors. Anyone seen violating these rules will have to face the fine according to their law.

Riyadh has also declared to impose fines of up to 500,000 riyals on those who do not disclose their health-related information and travel details at the kingdom’s entry points. Another step the Saudis took was to ban cafes and restaurants from serving shisha, something Kuwait also did days earlier.

In Bavaria, Germany a lockdown has been declared and anyone who will break the law will pay 25000 euro fine. Except for pharmacy and grocery shops, everything has to shut down. The rest of the German states are still not sure if they should also do that but later or sooner they have to as the infected number has reached 20, 000.

Gulf states employed in a number of drastic measures to help control the spread of the deadly coronavirus, with Saudi Arabia closing off air and sea travel to nine countries that have been impacted by the highly contagious disease. This means Oman is currently the only Gulf country the kingdom operates flights to and from.
