Crisis in the Middle East: US Secretary of State contacts key figures
United States (4th Jan, 2020): The US Secretary of State reportedly contacted another key figure after contacting the Pakistan Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa. According to reports of Baaghi TV, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has reportedly contacted His Highness Sheikh Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of United Arab Emirates, to discuss the ongoing situation with Iran. As reported by Baaghi TV earlier, Iranian general Qassem Suleimani was assassinated in a US airstrike. In his tweet, Mike Pompeo stated that they had discussed the joint action of the two countries with regards to the actions of the United States. He further added that they also discussed military provocations in the region and that the United States is committed to “de-escalation”.
