Cyclone Tauktae from the Arabian Sea to hit Karachi
Lahore, 15th May: Heavy rain is expected in Karachi between May 17 to 20 due to a cyclone in the Arabian Sea. The Meteorological Department said that the depression in Karachi’s southeastern Arabian Sea has taken the form of a Cyclone Tauktae. According to the details, the low pressure in the southeastern Arabian Sea has turned into a storm. There is a possibility of rain in different cities of Sindh including Karachi. The fourth hurricane alert issued by the Meteorological Department said that the low-pressure storm in the southeastern Arabian Sea has taken the form of ‘Tauktae’, which is currently 1,460 km from Karachi. The Met department said that the wind speed in the center of the storm is 70 to 80 km per hour, while the wind speed is increasing to 100 km. According to the statement, the storm will intensify in the next 12 to 18 hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in different cities of Sindh including Karachi due to the current situation in the sea and the effects of the system.
