Daniel Pearl murder case: Court hands down a major verdict
According to Baaghi TV, a case related to the murder of Daniel Pearl was heard in the Sindh High Court (SHC). Detention of 4 accused, including Ahmed Omar Sheikh, was declared null and void. The court ordered the accused to be released from jail immediately. The court remarked that the accused have been in jail for 18 years without any charges. It may be recalled that on April 2nd, the Sindh High Court had ruled on the appeals filed by four accused in the murder case following the abduction of American journalist Daniel Pearl. However, the death sentence of the main accused Omar Sheikh was changed to 7 years imprisonment.
