Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi participated in the annual “ghusal” ceremony at the renowned shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Hajveri, also known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, in Lahore. They, along with hundreds of devotees, offered prayers for progress, stability, and lasting peace in Pakistan.

During the ceremony, both Ishaq Dar and Mohsin Naqvi placed a floral ‘chaddar’ on the saint’s grave. The event saw the presence of other notable figures, including Punjab Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Azfar Ali Nasir, Provincial Auqaf Secretary Dr. Tahir Raza Bukhari, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, former provincial minister Bilal Yasin, Data Darbar administrator Shahid Hamid Virk, and Data Darbar manager Sheikh Jamil.

The solemn occasion commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the bathing of the Sufi saint’s grave with a generous amount of rosewater, weighing 2,000 kilograms. The ceremony served as a symbol of reverence and spirituality, with the participants praying for the prosperity and harmony of the nation.
