Human trafficking is a well-known issue in Pakistan, particularly concerning the forced marriages of women and girls who are then taken out of the country and forced into sex labor. Disturbing cases of elaborate trafficking networks between Pakistan and China have recently been exposed. A growing problem is the arrangement of fraudulent marriages between young Pakistani women and Chinese nationals. These Chinese nationals deceive Pakistani women, leading them to believe they are law-abiding, financially secure individuals.
