Death toll crosses 17,400 across Pakistan as inoculation drives enters third phase

The third wave of Corona virus is reportedly taking a turn for the worse as new cases continue to surface.  According to the National Command & Operation Center (NCOC), COVID-19 cases are increasing rapidly across Pakistan with 201 deaths and 5,292 new cases in the last 24-hours. Meanwhile, 49,101 tests have been conducted with the positivity ratio reported to be 10.77%. Meanwhile, 26 districts have been declared as high-risk across Pakistan. A country-wide inoculation drive is continuing with patients above the ages of 50 and 60 being vaccinated.
