
Baaghi TV: The death toll from a marble quarry in the Mohmand tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 17. Rescue operations are underway to get more people out of the rubble.
According to PDMA, rescue operations are underway in Safi Tehsil of Mohmand District after the Marble Mines incident. So far, the bodies of 17 people have been exhumed from the rubble while 9 injured have been shifted to Ghalani Hospital. An operation is underway to pull more people out of the rubble.
According to PDMA, teams of Pakistan Army, District Administration and Rescue 1122 are participating in the relief operations. Five ambulances and a recovery vehicle have been sent from Peshawar to Mohmand.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Labor Minister Shaukat Yousafzai has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy of Marble Mines Mohmand. According to Shaukat Yousafzai, rescue operations are underway at the scene.
More than 120 rescue personnel are taking part in the operation. The search for 11 missing persons is underway. Workers were buried under rubble in a landslide in Marble Mines in Safi Tehsil of Mohmand District yesterday.
Area police and rescue volunteer teams have reached the spot as soon as the eruption was reported but they are facing severe difficulties.
The wreckage is very large and there are problems due to lack of heavy machinery. DP Mohmand said that there are large rocks in the wreckage which can be removed only with the help of heavy machinery.
In response to a question from Hum News, DPO Mohmand said that heavy machinery and other relief equipment and teams have been called.
