March 12, 2021: The defending champion Army has successfully launched its campaign for the 2021 National Women’s Football Championship, while Highlanders Women’s Football Club and Dia Women’s Football Club bagged big victories on the second day of the annual competition on Wednesday. In the Group C match played at KMC Stadium, Karachi, Army defeated Jaffa Women’s Football Club 0-3, Soiba Sarfraz scored two goals in a row while national team star Hajira Khan scored one goal.

In the second match of the group played at KPT Stadium, Riaz Kamil Football Club drew 1-1 against FC Karachi. Vania Hassan scored for FC Karachi while Areba equalized for Riaz Kabul Football Club.

In the match played at KPT Stadium, Highlanders Women’s Football Club of Islamabad scored 16 goals against Nawan Sher United Football Academy of Abbottabad. Nazalia scored the most 6 goals while Asmara Habib guided the ball four times. In addition, Kafiya Karim and national team international footballer Abiha Haider scored two goals each while Fatima Qayyum scored one goal.

In another match played at KMC Stadium, Diya Women’s Football Club successfully started the 2021 National Women’s Football Championship by defeating Mohsin Gilani Women’s Football Club 0-13. For the winning team, Zaneera scored the most 5 goals, Maryam Zehri, Amira and Shumaila scored two, two while Alia Jhalka and Karan Qureshi scored one goal each.
