Delaying tactics used in case of Rana Sanaullah: Shehryar

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi Tuesday said delaying tactics were being used in the heroin possession case of Rana Sanaullah and his trial could not be started due to different reasons for the last seven months.

Speaking in the National Assembly on a point of personal explanation, he said last time Rana Sanaullah came to the National Assembly, he gave a statement about his case while holding Quran in his hand.

He said it was of paramount importance that constitution and law should be followed.

The minister said the victims of Model Town were still waiting as to when Rana Sanaullah would give a statement on the tragedy that struck them.

Rana Sanaullah should realize that his case would be decided in the court, he added.

He said delaying tactics were used and media trial was held on the case of heroin possession.

While himself holding Quran in his hand, Shehryar categorically stated that neither he nor Prime Minister Imran Khan conspired against Rana Sanaullah who should appear before the court when the hearing would be held in his case on January 18.

He said, “We wanted to build a single Pakistan where everybody gets justice.”

Afridi said Imran Khan gave his money trail when his case was in the Supreme Court.

The nation should decide who was wrong and who was right, he added.

While responding to the minister, the legislator of Pakistan Muslim League(N) Rana Sanaullah said he was ready to face any inquiry in Model Town and heroin possession cases.

He said no investigation was conducted by Anti Narcotics Force in the case in which it was alleged that he was in possession of heroin.
