Delhi bound flight hits snow mound at Srinagar airport
IIOJK: A Delhi-bound IndiGo plane hit a snow mound at Srinagar airport, following which the flight was held back. The latest reports suggested that all passengers were safe.
The airline said it has held the aircraft at the Srinagar airport for further inspections, and an alternative flight was arranged to Delhi to accommodate all the affected passengers.
“A Srinagar-Delhi flight today was held back at Srinagar after it came in close contact with the snow accumulated adjacent to the taxi-way. Aircraft is held at Srinagar for further inspections,” the airline said in a statement.
The brand new A321neo plane VT-IUZ had joined the airline’s fleet last month.
Sources said that the plane was carrying 233 passengers, who were on board when the incident occurred. All the passengers were evacuated from the plane. There was a delay in the take-off due to the incident.
