Former Indian Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has tweeted on social networking site Twitter that a national government should be formed at the center immediately before the situation gets out of control due to the corona virus.

Former Judge Katju suggested that the national government should include scientists, technicians and administration experts from all political parties in India. In the current situation due to the pandemic crisis, it is difficult for the BJP to deal with it alone.

Citing an example, the former Indian Supreme Court judge said that such a cabinet was formed in May 1940 by Prime Minister Winston Churchill, a member of the opposition Labor Party and Conservative Party, at a time when the threat of Nazi Germany was growing in England.

It should be noted that the lockdown is in force in India till May 17. Modi government has decided to maintain the lockdown across India for two more weeks due to the coronavirus.

India is one of the few countries that has imposed strict travel bans in the wake of the Corona epidemic. Following the lockdown, which began on March 25, trains across the country were also banned.

As a result of the lockdown in India, 12.2 million people have lost their jobs in the last month. Daily wage earners and small business owners have been the hardest hit by the lockdown.
