March 17, 2021: According to the report of Baaghi TV, the case of Justice Qazi Faiz Issa review was heard in the Supreme Court.
The Deputy Attorney General has demanded the rejection of the request to show the proceedings of the case live in the Supreme Court. Showing the court proceedings on television will create many problems. Given that the media is present to convey the proceedings of the Supreme Court to the public, the media representatives convey the court proceedings to the public in simple language, there is no justification to show the proceedings directly through the media.
Deputy Attorney General Amir Rehman told the court that judges ask questions to understand the case. The questions of the judges will confuse the common man instead of understanding him. The conduct of judges cannot be debated in Parliament either. The Additional Attorney General, citing a Florida court ruling, said the Florida court opposed direct coverage of the trial.
Justice Faiz Issa, in a petition filed in the Supreme Court, said that the apex court should review the verdict and quash the interim order of June 19. The petition said that the FBR had taken action against the family even before the detailed verdict. It is malicious to post a notice outside the residence of the FBR petitioner, to give an opportunity to submit a reply to the government’s written arguments.
Earlier on July 18, the Pakistan Bar Council had filed a review petition against the decision of the Supreme Court on the issue of presidential reference against Justice Qazi Faiz Issa.
