Lahore, 28th May: Major General Babar Iftikhar pays tribute to the scientists and engineers on Youm-e-Takbeer day today.

Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the country played a major role to restore peace in the region 23 years ago.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, DG ISPR said that Pakistan successfully restored the balance of power in Asia by establishing credible minimum nuclear deterrence.

Using the hashtag #Youm-e-Takbeer, General Babar wrote that AFs and the Pakistani nation pay tribute to all those who were involved in making this dream come true.

It is to be noted that today we are celebrating Youm-e-Takbeer to mark the 23rd anniversary of the historic first nuclear tests.

On this day, 23 years ago, Pakistan became the 7th nuclear power in the world and the 1st nuclear Muslim country.

Pakistan conducted nuclear tests at the Chaghai in Balochistan on 28th May 1998 in response to India’s nuclear bomb tests, which they conducted on 11th and 13th May of the same year at Pokhran in the Rajasthan state of India.

After the successful tests, Pakistan became unbeatable defense-wise.
