Lahore, 21st Feb 2020: According to the reports of Baaghi TV, PSL 5 was inaugurated yesterday at the Karachi National Cricket Stadium with full zeal and zest, but the public protested on one of the careless steps taken by the PCB.
An Indian artist Shubra Bhardwaj, who is currently a CEO of an entertainment company in India, was specially called over to cover the inaugural ceremony of the PSL on Thursday, 20th Feb, with her crew members from Ukraine, Morocco and India.
The question that arises over here is, has our government betrayed the public by inviting the Indian artist where as India has strictly banned our artists to perform at their platform? Or has the government forgotten the plight of the Kashmiris being lock down for the past 210 days?
According to the sources, over 210 million rupees have been spent at the inauguration ceremony of PSL 5.
At a meeting of the committee of Pakistan Cricket Board, where chairman PCB was absent, Dr Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, representative of the supreme institution raised questions regarding chairman’s seriousness and the benefits drawn by the chairman.
Inquiries were also raised about the benefits gained from the PSL, privileges of top PCB officials and payments made to Indian artist for the PSL 5 ceremony. In response to the questions, Parliamentarians were informed that nothing in writing can be provided at the moment.
Pakistani authorities have to be clear about their stance as we stand united with Kashmiris against all Indian atrocities. We have to support our local talent which can compete against any challenge.
Director and filmmaker Sultan Siddiqui shared a picture from the PSL event on social networking site Twitter and said that “Indian director” Shubra Bhardwaj “was invited by the PCB for the inauguration of the PSL. However, we have locals here who are capable of doing better, and then you want Pakistan’s talent should not end because of the lack of work.”
An Indian director Shubhra Bhardwaj was paid a fortune by @TheRealPCB for the opening ceremony of #HBLPSL in #Karachi today. We have local ppl to do better stuff than what has been put up. And then you want ur Pakistani talent to stop dying due to lack of work. pic.twitter.com/w33PMM7i2d

When India disagrees with Pakistan, why are Indian entrepreneurs and artists invited to Pakistan’s celebrations, Pakistan should abolish double standards, stand open in support of the ruling Kashmiris and refrain from inviting Indians to national events.
