Lahore, 1st March: Dr Babar Awan tells what happened in the meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner?

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the federal government has approached the Election Commission after the Supreme Court ruled on the presidential reference regarding the Senate election open ballot.

A delegation of federal ministers has reached the Election Commission. The government delegation includes Babar Awan, Fawad Chaudhry, Shafqat Mahmood, Shahzad Akbar, Shahbaz Gil and Faisal Javed. The government delegation called on the Chief Election Commissioner.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood said that he had met the Chief Election Commissioner and members. The meeting was held in the context of the decision of the Supreme Court. The history of corruption in the Senate should be ended. The decision pushes our position forward.

Dr Babar Awan, Advisor to PM Imran Khan on Parliamentary Affairs, said that the Election Commission has a short order of decision, three senators were notified who did not have votes and they were elected.

The position of the government has been presented before the commission. The Election Commission has five powers. This stage is decisive for fair elections in Pakistan. It is the first government of Imran Khan to go to the Supreme Court.

Dr Babar Awan said that the Election Commission can decide on vote secrecy according to the ground conditions. The video of vote-buying and selling in the Senate election is in front of everyone. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to hold transparent elections.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the government delegation has expressed confidence in the Election Commission and has assured the Election Commission of its support.

The decision of the Supreme Court should be implemented, the vote will remain a secret for the party, there will be no secret for the Election Commission.

These people are deliberately trying to make the election controversial. PML-N and PPP do not have a majority. How can they win the election? If they can print currency notes, then printing 1500 votes is not a problem. These people think that they will make the party successful by buying votes.

According to reports, the Supreme Court has issued an 8-page opinion on the presidential reference. The Chief Justice of Pakistan has written an opinion on the presidential reference regarding the open ballot.

The Supreme Court in its written opinion said that the vote was never acted in an ideal manner. The voting process is tampered with according to eligibility requirements.

It should be noted that due to the Senate elections on March 3, political activities have intensified. On the one hand, the government has intensified contacts with its allies and on the other hand, the opposition parties have also joined hands.
