Dr. Fauzia Imran denies reception of PhD degree
Baaghi TV: Dr. Fauzia Imran tweeted about not receiving her PhD degree from LCWU as she considers that Shahbaz Gill does not deserve to be the chief guest at such an occasion.
In a tweet which was later deleted, Dr. Fauzia Imran denied receiving her PhD degree and had instructed the security and faculty of social sciences to stop her from entering the college premises to attend the convocation ceremony at LCWU. Naveed Iqbal, the spokesperson of LCWU said that no one had tried to stop her from entering the university.
She had also instructed the removal of her name from the list however, the administration later forgot to exclude her name. Thus when the names were being announced, her name was also mentioned.
Dr. Fauzia tweeted that Shahbaz Gill did not deserve to be invited as the chief of guest to the event.
“I have decided not to receive my PhD degree on stage as a protest against the chief guest, Shahbaz Gill. He does not deserve to be a chief guest of the convocation of prestigious universities like LCWU,” she tweeted.
Ms. Imran was to receive her PhD degree during the evening and third session of the convocation being held on Wednesday. Her name was announced on the stage but she did not turn up.
Later, Shahbaz Gill tweeted: “The woman did not come from home to receive the degree and she is the relative of PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique. One news channel again proved to be a media cell of the PML-N and first made the news and later aired it. Tell the public the complete truth that the woman belonged to their party and it’s regrettable to use students for cheap politics.”
