Furthermore, in her resignation letter, a copy of which is available with Dawn News, SACM thanked the premier for having confidence in her to undertake the herculean task of highlighting the outstanding and remarkable performance of the Government of Punjab.

However, she said, “due to certain unavoidable personal grounds, I am unable to continue with my present assignment, in the Government of Punjab,” while resigning from the post with immediate effect.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier Baaghi TV had reported that Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on July 20 that she will take back her resignation which she submitted the day before, to leave her office to run PTI’s by-election campaign in Sialkot. Hence, she withdrew her resignation on the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

It may be noted that before taking the charge as CM Punjab’s aide this year, Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed Dr. Firdous as his special assistant on information and broadcasting in April 2019. Dr. Awan had replaced Fawad Chaudhry, who was the minister of science and technology at that time.
