Karachi: Court orders police to submit investigation report of Dr Maha case.
The case of Dr. Maha was heard in the Judicial Magistrate South Court of Karachi in which the court expressed frustration over the absence of the investigating officer.
The court issued show cause notice to the investigating officer for his failure to submit the investigation report against the accused.
The court directed to submit the investigation report and reply to the show cause notice at the next hearing.
Extension of interim bail of the accused
On the other hand, Dr. Maha’s case was also heard in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge South and the court extended the interim bail of accused Junaid and Waqas before arrest.
It may be recalled that on August 19, the body of Lady Dr. Maha Shah from Defense area of Karachi was found at her house on which the police had expressed suspicion that Dr. Maha had committed suicide by shooting herself.
Police said that the female doctor was living with her father, mother, 2 younger sisters and a younger brother. The doctor had an argument with her father and she went to the bathroom and committed suicide.
However, during the investigation of the case, the police registered a case on August 26 on the complaint of Maha Shah’s father. In which three accused have been named including well known dentist, friend of the deceased Junaid and one accused Waqas.
The Medico-Legal Officer (MLO) of Jinnah Hospital also said that the bullet hit the back of Dr Maha’s convoy. Contrary to all the facts, according to the crime scene and the initial investigation of the police, the bullet was said to be on the right side, which is now proving to be medically incorrect.
If Dr. Maha was a right-hander, she could not have fired with the other hand, and SSP South and the victim’s father have confirmed that Maha was a right-hander in a conversation with Geo News.
Junaid, a friend of Dr Maha and the accused in the case, has also expressed fears of her murder.
