According to Baaghi TV reports, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Health, Dr Zafar Mirza, a financial package of up to Rs 1 crore has been announced for health staff who pass away due to coronavirus.
Dr Zafar Mirza said that this package is for the doctors and health workers fighting against this virus, and that provincial health ministers and experts have also been consulted for the package. He said that our religion says that he who saves the life of one human, saves the life of all humanity, and that both the federal government and the provincial governments will be responsible for the dispensation of the package.
Dr Zafar Mirza further said that the health workers fulfilling their responsibilities under trying circumstances are our heroes, the frontline workers will get some tax holidays, including on income tax, and those who lose their lives while fighting the virus will be eligible for the Shuhada package.

Dr Zafar Mirza noted that the families of some patients are trying to take the law into their own hands on not getting sufficiently satisfactory treatment, by physical brutality. It has been decided to make the security of health workers fool-proof.
Dr Zafar Mirza said that the medical treatment of the families of health workers in both government and private institutions shall be the responsibility of the government, on a priority basis and they will get a helpline for support. The world over there is a high proportion of corona cases amongst health workers, and they will get tested on a priority basis, and the government itself will treat their families. The State Bank is providing loans on easy terms to private hospitals, so that they can pay the salaries of hospital workers.
He further reiterated that health workers losing their lives while fighting the virus will get the Shuhada Package, security arrangements shall be made at all hospitals, there will be accountability for those who violate SOPs, the security and financial support of frontline workers is a priority, those doing their duty under tough circumstances are heroes to us, health workers will get support via a helpline, there is a high proportion of infections health workers all over the world, and there are seven points of the special package.
