LONDON: DRS drama has happened in final test match of Ashes series as a small controversial spike sent David Warner on his way.
According to details Australian batsman David Warner slashed at a wide Jofra Archer delivery. The ball passed through to keeper Jonny Bairstow, who went up in a muted appeal. It seemed play would continue, as Warner scolded the shot, but English skipper Joe Root decided to send the decision upstairs for a second look. On replay, a small controversial spike sent Warner on his way, head down, as his poor run of form continued. However, that was where the questioning commenced. Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh took to twitter and said “Geeze I know there’s a spike but I can’t see how he has hit that. Looks like a gap between bat and ball.”

Commentators also raised questions on this decision. Former Australian Captain Ricky Poniting said “There’s definitely a noise as the ball passes the bat, but I’m not certain he has hit it.”
