Lahore: Drug paddlers and addicts are using WhatsApp groups sale and purchase of drugs while the level of divorce and Khula due to drug addiction among youth has also increased manifolds in Lahore during year 2021.
The use of Crystal Ice, STC, LSD tablets, Heroin, Naswar, E-Cigarette, Cigarette, Charas have increased in the city of Lahore during 2021 while Crystal Ice is one of them which is the form of drugs methamphetamine is favorite among young people.
This is most dangerous drug which destroy physical and mental health of the addicts swiftly. When Crystal Ice is used either orally or through needle and snorting it provides false senses of happiness and wellbeing rushing a strong felling of confidence.
This was stated by Syed Zulfiqar Hussain, Consultant, Anti Drugs/Narcotics Campaign interacting with media on the occasion of disseminating the Annual Report – 2021 Drug Addiction – A Threat to Youth at the Drug Advisory Training Hub (DATH) in collaboration with YOCFAN.
Vice Coordinator Adeel Rashid, Mohsin Zulfiqar, Dr. Ikram and Dr. Shoaib were also present on the occasion. The annual report of 2021 prepared by Drug Advisory Training Hub (DATH) a project of (YOCFAN).
Syed Zulfiqar Hussain said that Lahore is a capital city and cultural hub of Punjab; about 12 million people are living in this city. Population wise Lahore is second biggest city of Pakistan after Karachi, where the use of drugs/narcotics and its selling is easy. There are 100 plus different most affected areas in the city of Lahore where injection drug users using and injecting drugs without any fear.
He further said that increased the ratio up to maximum level of divorce and Khula due to drug addiction, families and children are suffering due to its bitter consequences.
Roshani Gate, Taxali Gate, Msati Gate, Data Darbar Areas, Ali Park, Royal Park, Sabza Zar, Tokhar Niaz Baig, Lal pul, Mughalpura, Dharmpura, Kot Lakhpat, Badami Bagh, Data Nagar, Shadra, Imamia Colony, Wahdat Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Khana Main Road, Nisbat Road, Railway Station,General Bus Stand Areas, Muslim Town More, Ghari Shahu, Road & Ganga Ram Chowk, Regal Chowk, Mall Chauburji Lahore and Yateem Khan Chowk are the main hub of drug addiction.
