Dry fruit exported abroad from Afghanistan has decreased

Afghanistan: The amount of dry fruit exported abroad has decreased.

Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that in the seven months of the solar year, $115 million worth of dried fruits were exported abroad, especially to India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Iran, showing a decrease of $255 million compared to the previous seven months.

In the first seven months of the year 1401, $370 million worth of goods were exported to other countries.

“Most of Afghanistan’s dry fruits are exported to India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Iran,” said Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesman for the ministry.

The Afghan Export Promotion Agency said that to increase dry fruit exports, increased flights through air corridors are needed.

“The lack of air corridors and transportation of goods through space is a big blow to Afghanistan’s exports, although land exports are flowing,” said Sayed Azim Mustafa Hashimi, head of the agency.

Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that most of Afghanistan’s dry fruits are exported to India and European countries, and the chamber is trying to provide facilities to businessmen in the field.

“From all exporting traders, our demand is to send their export goods with very good quality and with good packaging to the countries they are interested in,” said Khairuddin Mael, deputy of the chamber.

“The Chamber of Commerce has always tried to have representatives in other countries, and Afghanistan’s trade attachés have a responsibility to cooperate with the Chamber of Commerce to always export fresh and dry fruits abroad,” said Mohammad Yonis Mohmand, an official of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

Meanwhile, in 1401, more than two billion dollars worth of goods were exported abroad, and dried fruits made up a large part of the exports.
