EA, FIFA Announce Expansion of E-Sports Plan for FIFA 22

A SWEET TREAT AND BIG NEWS FOR FIFA LOVERS! Electronic Arts (EA) SPORTS FIFA 22 will include a new esports strategy, according to FIFA and EA.

According to the statement, the new initiative will let gamers from more than 70 nations participate in FIFA, making it one of the largest global professional gaming environments.

The new plan will include:

  • Both 1v1 and 2v2 competitions.
  • Allowing participants to compete in various FIFA competitions on behalf of themselves.
  • E-sports entities.
  • Actual football clubs.
  • Their country.

“FIFA competitive gaming is the destiny of professional e-sports entertainment, transforming how audience enjoy the game they love,” said Brent Koning, Vice President of Competitive Gaming at EA SPORTS.

“FIFA provides a critical stage for football fans all over the world to tell their own sports stories. The widespread attraction of esports is obvious thanks to our collaboration with FIFA.”

The FIFAe Club Series 2022, the FIFAe Nations Series 2022, and the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series, which acts as a gateway to the FIFAe World Cup 2022, are the three tournaments covered in new EA’s esports strategy. All of these activities will take place in the summer of 2022.

The EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series will commence on November 27th, with online events spanning ten global areas showcasing the traditional 1v1 competitive style.

In addition, more than 30 leagues will provide esports initiatives as official partners, allowing followers to reflect actual clubs in their location.

The Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, MLS, CONMEBOL Libertadores, and UEFA Champions League are authorized league collaborators.

“Newbies, as well as experienced superstars – individually or as a team – will motivate entire countries of EA SPORTS FIFA gamers and get the chance to showcase their game,” said Christian Volk, Director of eFootball and Gaming at FIFA.

“With this extended ecosystem, a momentous season full of compelling competitive FIFA tales will capture a worldwide fan following.” 

The FIFAe Club Series 2022 will go off in November with the FIFAe Club Online Qualifiers, which will feature the new FIFA Ultimate Team’ Team of the Year’ and ‘Team of the Season’ cups.

At the FIFAe Nations Series 2022, employees of the organization will compete in 2v2 games against one another.

The FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers will be the starting point for all countries, with the nation’s top teams progressing to the FIFAe Nations Playoffs. National competitions are expected to be used to find top competitive players for the countries.
