Islamabad (May 24, 2022): Earthquake shakes experienced in Swat, Mingora, and surrounding areas, confirms the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to details, tremors were felt in and around Mingora, the district headquarters of the historic city of Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The quake has caused panic with people rushing out into open spaces chanting the Kalima.

According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter was reported to Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan at 12:11 pm local time with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale. The department confirmed the epicenter to be approximately 170 km in depth.
