“It is understood that the 63-year-old is leaving by mutual consent after discussions with the board of directors this week. He has been under increasing pressure since making the decision to cancel England’s tour to Pakistan, which was scheduled for later this month,” an English media outlet reported.

It was English Media and particularly Michael Atherton, who continuously criticized the ECB’s decision of cancellation of Pakistan tour. Before ECB’s decision, New Zealand Cricket Board left the tour and country citing security threats and ECB followed them to take unilateral decision.
