ECB Chief Harrison arrives in Pakistan to ease tensions between the PCB and ECB

Nov 9, 2021: England Cricket Board (ECB) chief executive Tom Harrison arrived in Lahore on Tuesday to mend the board’s relationship with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the cancellation of the October T20 tour.

Harrison will meet PCB chairman Rameez Raja this afternoon. The top management of English cricket has arrived in Pakistan to establish relations with the PCB. During his brief visit, the ECB chief will discuss England’s visit to Pakistan in 2022.

According to details, Harrison will assure the PCB of a full tour next year. Harrison’s visit to Pakistan is short as he is in the United Arab Emirates for a meeting of the chief executives of the International Cricket Council (ICC) this weekend.

Relations between Pakistan and the English cricket boards soured when England canceled their tour of Pakistan in September, citing “growing concerns about travel to the region” behind the decision, a few days prior to which New Zealand also canceled a visit to Pakistan due to security concerns.

Harrison is reportedly visiting Pakistan to ease tensions in relations between the two boards.
