According to the notification issued by the Election Commission, the general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on October 8th.
In the light of the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Election Commission consulted the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding the date and then announced the date after consideration.
Meanwhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali had suggested October 8 as the date for the election. After consultation, he wrote a letter to the Election Commission on March 24 in which he suggested holding elections in the province on October 8.
