ECP deploys Rangers outside polling stations in Lahore, Multan

 

 

The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP wrote a letter to the director-general of Rangers in Punjab to deploy the Rangers personnel outside the polling stations in Lahore, and Multan for smooth and peaceful conduction of upcoming bye-polls.

As per Baaghitv.com report ECP said that Rangers will be deployed outside the polling station while Punjab police will remain inside the polling stations.

The provincial election commissioner Umar Hameed Khan wrote a letter to DG Rangers Punjab in this regard.

Rangers personnel will be deployed around 465 polling stations in Lahore’s PP-158, PP-168, PP-167, and PP-170 and in Multan.

Polling for by-election on 20 general seats of the Punjab Assembly will be held on July 17.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sultan Sikandar Raja on Tuesday took notice of code of conduct violations ahead of Punjab by-elections.

PTI vice president and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a press conference leveled allegations of code of conduct violations.
