Lahore, 10th March: When will the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announce its decision on PTI’s application for disqualification of PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gillani’s victory notification?
According to the report of Baaghi TV, the decision was reserved on the request of PTI for the disqualification of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani elected as Senate Chairman.
The Election Commission will announce its decision on the issue of withholding notification of Gillani’s victory at 3 pm on Wednesday (today).
A four-member bench of the Election Commission headed by Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi heard the case. Alia Hamza of PTI appeared before the commission along with her lawyer.
The lawyer said that it is not acceptable in the sight of God not to carry out justice. Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi asked what evidence do you have?
Lawyer Alia Hamza said that we have videos, on which ECP member Irshad Qaiser said that these videos have also been played yesterday. The Election Commission has the option to send the case to the session judge.
Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi reiterated that bribe-takers and givers are equal, we demand to bring both the parties.
Advocate Alia Hamza said that PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz had earlier said that my ticket was sold, sometimes the money works and somewhere the ticket works.
The Member Election Commission said that the authenticity of audio and videotapes is unquestionable, it is the beauty of democracy so the vote has been kept secret.
Farrukh Habib and Malika Bukhari’s lawyer Ali Zafar appeared before the commission. Lawyer Ali Zafar said that he was asked to be held accountable and that we have made a transcript of the video.
He told that Jamil Ahmed Khan and Faheem Khan are in the video, where Ali Haider Gilani is the one who is giving the bribe and the person who made the video is presenting his affidavit.
