Former Punjab chief minister Monday challenged his detention order in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Lahore deputy commissioner issued a notification for the detention of Pervaiz Elahi.
Elahi is a leading member of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and he could harm the law and order situation. Keeping in view this fact, it has been decided to detain Elahi for a month under 3 MPO.
There are three cases against the PTI president. The decision to detain Elahi was taken after the recommendations made by the police during a District Intelligence Committee meeting.
It bears mentioning that Elahi got bail on July 11 but he still is in jail.
Elahi was initially arrested on June 1 in a corruption case. He was rearrested several times after this in different cases, including two money laundering cases.
