Electricity has returned to normal in majority areas across Karachi: K-Electric
Baaghi TV: Spokesman K-Electric has claimed that electricity is normal in 95% of Karachi.
Spokesman Electric Noor Afshan said in a statement that due to accumulation of water in the city, there were difficulties in restoring electricity in some areas and people in areas where power restoration work was difficult were informed in advance.
The spokesperson said that water had entered more than 50 per cent of the substations but they were in touch with the concerned agencies for drainage of water from the substations. Water also entered the basements of houses during the rains.
On the other hand, despite the passage of three days in different parts of Karachi, power supply has been affected, including Surjani Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gadap Town, Bin Qasim and some areas of Clifton.
After the rains in Karachi four days ago, power has not been restored in many areas. Residents of Block 8 in Clifton protested by blocking roads against the continuous power outage.
Residents took to the streets in Clifton Block 8 after a power outage. Protesters, including women and children, blocked the road, disrupting traffic.
