Elon Musk becomes the world’s richest person
New York, 8th January: Elon Musk, owner of the American car brand Tesla has become the world’s richest person.
Baaghi TV: Elon Musk becomes the world’s richest person after his net worth crossed $185bn (£136bn).
According to reports from BBC News, the richest entrepreneur who owns Tesla and SpaceX was pushed into the top slot after Tesla’s share price increased on Thursday.
Musk has taken the top spot from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who had held it since 2017.
For the first time on Wednesday, Mr Musk’s electric car company Tesla has surged in value this year and hit a market value of $700bn (£516bn) making the car company worth more than Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, GM and Ford combined.
Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley on Twitter shared the news on Thursday.

To which Musk replied in his signature style with the remark, “How strange.”

Daniel Ives, an analyst with Wedbush Securities wrote: “A Blue Senate is very bullish and a potential ‘game-changer’ for Tesla and the overall electric vehicle sector, with a more green-driven agenda now certainly in the cards for the next few years.”
Second-richest Mr Bezos has also seen his fortunes rise over the past year. After the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon benefited from stronger demand for both its online store and cloud computing services.
