BERLIN: According to reports, German authorities conducted emergencies in most cities and sent a message to citizens to be ready at all times.
According to a report by the French news agency, the German government suddenly started sounding emergency alarms in different cities at 11 am on September 10. These sirens sounded just as they sounded in a war situation to warn citizens of danger.
The government sounded the emergency siren and sent a warning message to the citizens on their mobile phones, saying that the state of emergency had not been imposed in the country but was being practiced to deal with any situation.
According to the report, the government declared a state of emergency for 20 minutes and then the siren sounded off. Radio and TV broadcasts were also suspended during the emergency.
A statement from the Department of Defense and Emergency Situations (BBK) said the exercise was aimed at examining Germany’s emergency systems to keep citizens ready for any possible situation.
BBK chief Christoph Inger said: “On the one hand, this exercise was about technical testing of the warning system, and on the other hand, through Warning Day, we wanted to sensitize the citizens and draw their attention to the fact that they should be prepared at all times. We also want to alert the public to such warning messages, such as sirens. ”
According to media reports, the exercise was also aimed at preparing citizens for any possible national emergency.
