Emmy Awards 2020 go virtual due to coronavirus pandemic

The prestigious Emmy Awards for TV are one of the few entertainment industry events that have not been canceled due to pandemics, 72nd awards ceremony will be held virtually this year.
According to reports, the nominations for the Emmy Awards were announced recently, but no explanation was given for holding the ceremony at that time.
There have already been rumours that the red carpet will not be held this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic and fewer people will be invited to the awards ceremony, but this has now been confirmed.
Foreign news agency Reuters quoted the showbiz website Variety in its report as saying that the management of ‘Emmy Awards’ has completed preparations to hold the event virtually and the event will be held on September 20 on TV and web. The sites will be shown online, but it is thought that some people will attend the event.
It is also being said that the showbiz personalities attending the event will be wearing unique and corona-like clothing instead of the glamorous ones.
Nominations for the Emmy Awards, launched in 1949, have been announced, with streaming website Netflix’s Drama topping the list with 160 nominations.
This year, HBO is in second place with 107 nominations, but the same website’s drama ‘Watchman’ tops the list with 26 nominations.
Second is web streaming Amazon’s old 1960 comedy drama, The Marvels, Mrs. Michels, which received 20 nominations.
At number three is Netflix’s drama ‘Ozark’, which received 18 nominations.
The Emmy Awards are presented by the management in a total of 26 different main categories, with more sub-categories, including Best Actress, Actor, Director, Supporting Actress, supporting Actor, Drama Serial, Comedy, Action and Music.Includes other categories, bringing the number of sub-categories to 90.
For the first time this year, flexibility has been shown in the nominations for the Emmy Awards and women of all ages, colors and races have also been nominated.
Interestingly, for the first time in the history of the Emmy Awards, an American Muslim comedy series has also been nominated and the award has gone to Rami.
Rami Yousaf, who played the lead role of Rami Yousaf in ‘Rami’, was nominated for Best Lead Actor and Best Director in a comedy series.
In season two, Rami Yousaf’s rival Mehrshala Ali has been nominated for the best supporting role in the comedy series.’Rami’ is the first American Muslim series to make it to the Emmy Awards.

It may be recalled that at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, the Best Comedian award was given to Rami Yusuf, an Arab-American actor, for his performance in the comedy series ‘Rami’.
