Angry employees also stopped the vehicle of Information Minister Shibli Faraz. Due to the protest, the doors of Pak Secretariat were closed which were reopened after sunset. Due to the protest, several highways in Islamabad were jammed with heavy traffic throughout the day, causing severe hardships to the citizens.
A series of roundups have been launched to thwart the sit-in of federal government employees. Police arrested 7 leaders of the sit-in, including Chief Organizer All Pakistan Employees Grand Alliance Rehman Bajwa.
Employees say that we are not afraid of these arrests, we will take our right. All arrested employees should be released immediately and the rights of employees should be given to them. If the employee leaders are not released on full four, then the government will be responsible for the situation.
