One of the world’s most popular and successful football leagues, the English Premier League, will be establishing a major partnership with the Pakistan Football League.

According to reports, former English footballer Michael Owen has been assigned ambassador for the Pakistan Football League for 3 years and will thus be visiting Pakistan. The footballer has played for Manchester United and Liverpool FC and has stated that Pakistan is a paradise for talented football players. “I consider it an honor to work with the Pakistan Football League,” he said. He further went on to say that it was very exciting that Pakistan, with its 220 million population, was finally launching professional football.

According to a British newspaper, 6 major English football clubs will become partners of 6 Pakistani teams.

As it stands, English football teams are arguably the most successful. Teams from Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, and Islamabad will play wearing cuts from English clubs.

It is to be noted that this will be the first partnership of the English Premier League in this style ever. Many popular players including Ronaldo, and Salah play in the League.
