Facebook on Sunday unpublished the official page of Kisan Ekta Morcha, the handle in use for posting updates about the ongoing farmers’ agitation on social media. Young farmers associated with the protest against the Centre’s three new farm laws have been documenting the agitation on social media platforms under the banner of Kisan Ekta Morcha.

In a tweet, Kisan Ekta Morcha claimed that its official Facebook page (@kisanektamorcha) with over 7 lakh followers has been removed by the social media giant. “This is what they can do when people raise their voices When they can’t beat us ideologically.

The move by Facebook came barely hours after farmer leaders announced their decision to sit on day-long relay hunger strikes across all protest sites on Monday. Addressing a press conference at Singhu border, farmer leaders also said that they will halt toll collection on highways in Haryana from December 25 to December 27.
