ISLAMABAD, August 25 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) while issuing notice to NAB on bail application of Anwar Majid, main accused in Fake Bank accounts case has sought reply till September 02.
A two members bench of SC headed by Justice Mushir Alam took up the case for hearing Tuesday. Munir A Malik counsel for Anwar Majeed gave arguments through video link from Karachi registry. Justice Mushir Alam while addressing Munir A Malik, counsel for Anwar Majeed said “ you are not seeking bail but you are seeking permission to send the accused abroad.
Munir A Malik said “ yes, the constitution guarantees for life. It is right of the accused to undergo treatment of his own choice. Justice Mushir Alam inquired what is guarantee for return of the accused to Pakistan. Munir A Malik said the court can seek guarantee to its satisfaction. Justice Qazi Amin while praying for early recovery of Anwar Majeed remarked that unfortunately experience with reference to treatment abroad has not remained good in the past.
Munir A Malik said Sindh High Court remarked there is no concept of allowing to undergo treatment abroad in the law. Anwar Majeed operation can be carried out abroad only. What surgery has to be conducted in respect of Anwar Majeed is not successful considerably in Pakistan. The court while issuing notice to NAB sought reply till September 2, The hearing of the case was adjourned till September 2.
