Nov 23, 2021: Five members of the same family from Lahore were killed in a horrific accident on the M5 motorway connecting Multan to Sukkur.

Rangers service man Mubashir Zaidi, wife and three children lost lives in a car crash near Uch on M5 motorway.

The family was on its way from Lahore to Tando Adam in Sindh to attend a wedding. According to Samaa TV, Mubashir Zaid of Pakistan Rangers, his wife and three children, Hadia, Mutahir and Tahrim were killed on Monday night when their vehicle collided with and hit a roadside pole near Uch Sharif in South Punjab.

According to rescue officials, the car overturned on the motorway and the driver lost control after the tire exploded. Uch Sharif is a historic city 138 km north of Multan.

The bodies were shifted to a rural health center.

Tire rupture is one of the major causes of accidents on motorways in Pakistan. In 2017, General Khalid Shamim Wynne, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, was killed in a road accident when his car’s tire exploded and overturned near Chakri.
