Famous anchor Aftab Iqbal and his brother booked under a fraud case

Lahore, 3rd May: Leading Pakistani anchorpersons, writers and hosts Aftab Iqbal and Junaid Iqbal have been charged with alleged fraud in a money laundering case.

Baaghi TV: A money-laundering case has been filed against Aftab Iqbal and his brother Junaid Iqbal in Naseerabad Lahore police station on Monday.

Fir has been lodged by one of the vendors and suppliers of AAP NEWS.

Petitioner Saeed Ahmed took the position that they sell generators and both Aftab Iqbal and Junaid Iqbal are the Chief Executives of the company Sun Media Pvt Ltd.

The petitioner alleged that Sun Media Company purchased generators worth over Rs 15.55 crore from our company at different times in return for which they paid Rs 26 lakh 39 thousand 3 hundred 84 per check which was deposited in the concerned bank but they were dishonored.

The petition said that after the checks were dishonored, Aftab and his brother Junaid Iqbal were contacted but they didn’t keep their promises.

Petitioner states that he believes that Aftab and Junaid Iqbal Company have issued fraudulent checks to their company in bad faith.

Petitioner Saeed Ahmed in his petition demanded legal action against Aftab Iqbal and Junaid Iqbal.

It should be noted that Aftab Iqbal is a Pakistani journalist and former host of the Geo News program Khabarnaak. He resigned from the program on April 19, 2014, after the Geo News controversy. He was also the host of the famous program ‘Hasb-e-Haal.’

Aftab Iqbal and Junaid Iqbal are the sons of Urdu poet Zafar Iqbal.

After being associated with Express, he became the owner of his own news channel in January 2019.  Aftab Iqbal is now the host of the program ‘Khabarzar’ on the “Aap News” channel.
